How we fit into the health community

AWP is a NHS trust - that is, we are part of the NHS family. As such, we are accountable, via our commissioners, service users and carers and ultimately to the Secretary of State for Health.

As a partnership trust, we also have important responsibilities to work together at a local level with other public bodies, such as local authorities; the police and the criminal justice system including prisons; and also with the voluntary sector. This is to ensure we provide a joined up service for the communities we serve.
