Staying active

Working remotely can mean you aren't walking or cycling to work or moving around a workplace like you normally would. It is important for your physical and mental wellbeing that you take regular breaks from wherever you're sitting at home to work and that you keep active. If you are able to go out and get some fresh air or walk round the park, this will help relieve stress. Here are more tips and advice on exercises and other activities that might help.

  • NHS Fitness Studio – These 24 instructor-led videos cover aerobic exercise, strength and resistance, and pilates and yoga. They're all between 10 and 45 minutes long.

  • 10-minute shake-ups – these 10-minute themed games created by NHS Change4Life are aimed especially at families all at home together.

  • CSP Chair Exercises – as the name suggests, you can do this series of easy, enjoyable exercises and stretches from the CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapists) right by your work chair if you can't go out to exercise.
