Advice and information for people who need support following a suicide

There are a number of options available for help following the death of a family member or friend as a result of suicide. These include national bereavement support organisations who have local networks, groups and helplines, such as:

  • Alliance of Hope – a network for suicide loss survivors;
  • Childhood Bereavement Network – a hub for professionals and family members caring for children who have been bereaved;
  • Cruse Bereavement Care who have a dedicated network for people affected by suicide and other traumatic death;
  • Facing the Future – run support groups for people bereaved by suicide;
  • Pete's Dragons – a self-help based network offering support and contact, aiming to break down the sense of shame and stigma that often surrounds loss through suicide;
  • Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide  (SOBS) and CRUSE run survivor support groups in Bath, Bristol, Swindon and Weston-Super-Mare. Email contact details or ring for the respective groups:
