Freedom of information

Although some confusion has arisen around the FOIA, service users and carers should be assured that their personal information is not available through the FOIA, and that nobody can successfully obtain access to their Health and Social Care Records using an FOI request.

Service users wishing to view their own Health and Social Care Records can do so by making a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act 1998. Ask your care co-ordinator for further information or visit our Confidentiality page.

Classes of information

If you can't find the information you are looking for within the Classes of Information, please feel free to ask us whether we have the information you are interested in by sending us a request. This can be done by writing to us or by completing and filling out the FOI request form. If you are unable to do this please phone us for assistance.

If you would like more information about data protection and freedom of information please visit the Information Commissioner's website.
