Wellbeing Fayre at Callington Road

On Tuesday 24th April 2018, the Occupational Therapy Team at
Callington Road Hospital held a Wellbeing Fayre in the grounds for
service users and staff. They were supported by other colleagues
from CRH including the Art Psychotherapies, the Bristol Active Life
Project team (BALP) and physiotherapy staff. Charlie, our ever
popular PAT (Pets as Therapy) dog also joined us for the
afternoon.
The Fayre was based on the theme of the Five Ways of Wellbeing
(WoW):
Connect
Learn
Be Active
Notice
Give
The activities on offer
tried to reflect these values as much as possible. For more
information about WoW, click
here.
Amongst several other activities,
there was dancing, adapted tai chi, a circuits class, a message
tree, tortoises (with babies!), and cake decorating. The North
Somerset Bird of Prey Centre brought owls which people enjoyed
meeting, and appreciated our regular visit from the Avon Wildlife
Trust. New this year was a 'learn to knit' tent which proved very
busy and productive!
Despite the weather being rather grey,
there was a good turn out with positive feedback from service
users and staff. It was a good opportunity to have conversations
about well being and for people to try something new.
The Occupational Therapy team would
like to thank everyone for their support; it was a great event!
