Film of service user’s rowing challenge for Alzheimer's to be screened

A film about one of AWP's service user's lifelong goal to row down the River Thames and raise money for Alzheimer's research will be screened on the Community Channel this November.

CommunityChannel'Forget Me Not' tells the story of Jamie Graham who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease aged 59-years-old.

Jamie's ambition was to row the 25 mile stretch of river from Henley-on-Thames to Eton School, where he would finish his challenge by heading up the annual Procession of Boats at the school where he was once a pupil. A team of former Olympian rowers joined forces to help Jamie achieve his aim.

The film weaves an intimate picture of life with Alzheimer's, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. It is his own story, in his own often faltering but candid and courageous words.

So far Jamie has raised over £99K for Alzheimer's Research UK - if you'd like to donate and help him meet his target of £100K, please visit Jamie's website Forget Me Not Row.

'Forget Me Not' broadcasts on Sky 539 and Virgin Media 233 tonight (Thursday 8 November) at 11pm and on Friday 9 November at 2:10am and Saturday 24 November at 8pm.
