Views wanted on improving mental health services
Following on from two successful events in Bristol, we are now
planning to hold a number of meetings to seek the views of service
users, their carers, support workers, voluntary organisations and
other interested parties on the improvements to the services
provided by AWP in other geographical areas of the Trust.
The meetings taking place are as follows:
- To discuss improvements in
South Gloucestershire - Monday 23 July, 10am-12 noon, Emersons
Green Village Hall, Emersons Green, Bristol BS16 7AP
- To discuss improvements in
Bath and North East Somerset - Tuesday 24 July, 2-4pm, The
Guildhall, Bath, BA1 5AW
- To discuss improvements in
Swindon - Tuesday 31 July, 2-4pm, The Pilgrim Centre,
Regent Circus, Swindon SN1 1PX
Meetings to discuss the changes in Wiltshire and North Somerset
will take place in the autumn and dates will be confirmed
shortly.
AWP's goal is to deliver effective access to specialist mental
health services through local GP practices and rapid specialist
single assessments. The new services will provide intensive support
to those in acute need or crisis, brief intervention in the
community and seamless transfer to more specialist interventions in
the community or as an inpatient.
The changes being implemented have been shaped in discussions
with Commissioners and with input from stakeholders including
service users, carers and staff.
The aim of the meetings is to share the progress being made,
discuss the reasons for the changes, highlight the benefits and get
feedback from service users, carers, support workers and other
stakeholders.
Drinks and refreshments will be served and reasonable travel and
out of pocket expenses can be claimed.
