Trust 'highly commended' at HSJ Awards

HSJ Awards 250Our Trust has been highly commended in the Board Leadership category of the prestigious Health Service Journal Awards.

The award reflects the changes made in our Trust over the past 18 months and were captured in a short film which formed part of the Trust's award submission.

The film focused on the changes arising from the highly critical Sutherland report published in June 2012 which resulted in a change in the senior leadership team and the Fit for the Future programme of organisational change. The degree of change undertaken in the Trust was highlighted when Sue Sutherland conducted a follow up report and concluded earlier this year that the Trust was "completely different and unrecognisable from previous visits in a very positive way."

Chief executive Iain Tulley said: "We are pleased to have received this external recognition which reflects the hard work and commitment of staff across the Trust in implementing significant change. It is an endorsement of our direction of travel and an acknowledgement that we have further to go.

While pleased that our Trust is starting to be recognised positively, there is still much to do to turn the organisation into one of the best mental health employers in the country and in supporting our staff through a time of considerable uncertainty."
