Information events for would-be governors
Find out what the role of a Foundation Trust governor involves
at one of the events AWP is hosting over the coming weeks.
The events take place in October ahead of the Governor elections
in 2014 and are aimed at members who are considering standing
for election. They will provide information on the procedures and
requirements of the election process as well as what is expected of
governors once they have been elected.
Governors will be elected by, and will become the voice of, our
members. They are vital in ensuring the communities we serve have
their say about the mental health and wellbeing services in their
area, and in ensuring that the views of our members are considered
in decisions about how the Trust spends its money and develops its
The events will feature presentations and there will be plenty
of opportunities for members to ask questions and raise ideas and
observations about the Trust and the way in which governor
involvement can improve mental health services provided.
