Meet the author: Special event with Nathan Filer

Nathan Filer

Local author Nathan Filer will be discussing his debut novel, The Shock of the Fall, at a special lunchtime event on 2 October.

Nathan - who we can proudly boast is also a nurse in this very Trust - will be talking about and reading from his book as well as answering audience questions.

The event will take place at the UWE's Glenside campus library, Blackberry Hill, Fishponds, Bristol, from 12.00 noon until 1.00pm next Wednesday 2nd October. The event is free of charge and everyone is welcome.

The Shock of the Fall takes an exquisitely sensitive, moving and humorous approach to mental health. Since its publication in May the book has flown off the shelves and has received rave reviews across the media and bookseller sites including Amazon and The Book People.

Join Nathan on 2 October to hear his perspective in person (click here).

Guardian reader reviews include:

As a recovering mental health service user listening to Nathan Filer I found that I immediately connected with it.

This is a moving (but also, at times, very funny) account of a family dealing with grief.

The Shock the Fall is such a gripping, skilful novel, it's difficult to believe it's Nathan Filer's debut.
