AWP in next wave of CQC inspections

AWP in next wave of CQC inspections

The Care Quality Commission has announced that AWP is one of 12 mental health and community health services providers to be inspected in the next quarter under the Chief Inspector of Hospitals new inspection regime.
CQC's announcement represents a major opportunity to assess the progress the Trust has made in ensuring that quality drives all activity.
The inspection represents an opportunity to showcase the excellent work which we do, the improvements we are making, the commitment of our staff and the quality of care we provide.

Alongside the positive discussions we have been having with the NHS Trust Development Authority, the planned inspection is an essential milestone in our ambition to become a NHS foundation trust.  A successful inspection will give a positive message about the quality of our service and the excellent work of our staff.
Dates for the inspection are being finalised but we expect it to take place between April and June.

The inspection will involve a team of more than 20 people, headed by a senior clinician or executive from the sector, working alongside senior CQC inspectors. The team will include professional and clinical staff and other experts, including trained members of the public.

We expect the inspection team to look at a range of sites and key service areas and inspections are undertaken also in the evenings and at weekends.
