It's World Mental Health Day!


Friday, 10 October, is World Mental Health Day and AWP teams, partner organisations and service users are working together to mark the occasion.

An exhibition at the Carlton Centre in Weston-super-Mare is highlighting positive partnership working, community involvement, recent successes and future opportunities.

Staying in Weston, the Weston Warriers have organised a six-a-side recovery football tournament at the Hans Price Academy on Saturday 11 October between 10.30 and 4pm.

BBC Radio Bristol's Dr Phil Hammond show on Saturday morning will feature Will Hall and Jacqui Westra discussing mental health in Bristol - tune in just after 10.30 to catch them.

The Bristol Festival of Health, which takes place over the next two days at the Watershed, includes a session on Saturday lunchtime (12.00 to 1.00) on supporting mental, as well as physical health. An expert panel will feature Bristol clinical director James Eldred, specialised services clinical director Tim Williams, Marvin Rees, and Carol Metters, chief executive of voluntary sector partner Missing Link. A few tickets are still available.

South Gloucestershire Council is holding a World Mental Health Day event at Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre featuring AWP's Anthony Lacny and Maria-Paloma Sequeiros.

And organisations across Bath and North East Somerset are holding events, including a coffee and cake morning  from 10.00 until 2.00 on Friday at St John's Church in Keynsham, which AWP is supporting.
