Positive Practice Awards update!

News has reached us from the national Positive Practice Awards HQ that we have a third finalist in this year's awards!

The Walking Challenge, in which 62 teams of staff took part back in the Spring, has shortlisted in the Mental Wellbeing of Staff category.

The Walking Challenge joins Bristol Boxfit and the HMP YOI Portland substance misuse team's Inside Recovery Programme in the finals of this year's awards.

Sue Hine, health and wellbeing manager, conceived the Walking Challenge in response to the staff survey, as a way for staff to help manage stress levels through physical activity and to give people a focus to encourage them to take breaks during the working day. This simple concept proved incredibly popular and additional supplies of pedometers had to be secured to meet demand.

Congratulations to everyone involved in developing the Walking Challenge and making it a big success.
