AWP contributes to boost in dementia research volunteers

Increase volunteersAvon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust has worked hard to promote and raise awareness of Join Dementia Research, contributing to the large rise in the number of people taking part in dementia research; news which has grabbed the attention of the national media today.

During the last year almost 22,000 people have taken part in research studies to tackle the condition - a 60% rise - according to figures published today by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

The increased participation in dementia reseach projects across the UK will give scientists a huge advantage in finding new treatments to prevent, treat and hopefully cure the illness.
