New support for Bristol inpatients
creative Psychological Therapy Team is now working across the
wards at Southmead and Callington Road Hospitals.
The new team offer a space to help
people make sense of their hospital admission and to understand the
emotional distress and crisis in their lives when words to describe
their experience may be hard to find.
Working across several different wards the team offer a
comprehensive service within the modalities of music, art, drama
and dance movement psychotherapy.
Offering NICE guideline treatments and facilitating individual
and group psychotherapy, the team also offer reflective
practice sessions to ward staff and work closely with the
Complex Psychological Interventions team to ensure access to
psychological therapy after discharge.
A patient recently donated some artwork to Aspen ward, saying "I
