Trekking the Andes in aid of Hillview Lodge

machupichuBev Nichols, a fitness instructor from Midsomer Norton, is walking the Inca Trail to raise funds for Hillview Lodge.

Bev is heading to Peru and the Inca Trail to the lost city of Machu Picchu in the hope of raising £5,000 for Hillview Lodge, where her brother Martin Lye received support.

On 10 April, she will travel for 36 hours to reach the ancient Inca capital of Cusco and will then face a 43 km walk in the Andes at high altitudes, taking her up steep inclines with sheer drops. This will mean be camping out on the mountainside with minimum kit.

Mr Lye died in 2006 and his devoted sister is determined to give something back in his memory.

Bev said "I really want to do this in memory of my dear brother Martin and to help others who are struggling with mental health issues to build a better future".

The Trust thanks Bev for what she is doing and we wish her well in her expedition!
