Sowing the seeds of hope

Sowing the seeds of hopeBeautiful and inspiring 'word trees' are adorning the wards at The Victoria Centre in Swindon. The trees give service users and carers the chance to leave a positive message of hope for those visiting the wards in the future.

The trees are part of a number of schemes at the Centre which help to provide a positive and open environment. Other displays include extensive patient information booklets, details about safety records, Friends and Family Test results and a flip chart for carers to provide immediate feedback based on a different theme each month.

Admin Manager Julie French said, "The carers have responded positively to the trees and visitors seem to feel comforted by reading the messages they have left. The patients on our functional ward also like their tree and one patient said it made her cry to read the lovely messages of hope which others had left."

The Trust continues to promote recovery and hope. The trees contribute to the positive environment at the Centre and helps carers to feel secure that loved ones will receive the highest quality of care.
