Hayley Richards has been appointed as Chief Executive of AWP

H RichardsHayley, who was serving as Acting Chief Executive following the departure of Iain Tulley, was selected following an interview process involving stakeholders, NHS Improvement, service users, staff, and carers.

Tony Gallagher Chair of the Trust Board said, "I am delighted that Hayley has accepted this role. Hayley demonstrated to the interview panel that she has the skills and passion to continue the work she has started. We were especially impressed with her commitment to making service users active participants in their care and not passive recipients. Thank you to all the staff and service users who contributed to this rigorous process."

Apart from a short time in Australia, Hayley has trained and worked in the South West and has forged strong professional links across the region. Her expertise includes both general and old age psychiatry.

Hayley, previously AWP's Medical Director said, "I am extremely pleased to be appointed as AWP's new Chief Executive. I have been in this role on an interim basis since December and I am keen to continue building positive relationships with our stakeholders and speaking out for mental health in the community.

"I am extremely proud of the organisation and its staff and look forward to all that we will achieve together."

The Trust Board will continue to develop and strengthen with the recruitment of a Medical Director and Director of Finance.

We are delighted to be able to make this announcement after receiving the necessary Government agreement, following their lengthy approval process.

An announcement regarding the Director of Operations will follow shortly.
