Trust to hold first Learning Disability Conference

LD ConferenceA Learning Disability Conference for staff will be held at the Fry Club and Conference Centre in Keynsham on Friday 26 February 2016. The aim of the conference is to highlight the work undertaken by staff to support our service users with learning disabilities and look at ways the service can be developed.

The packed conference programme includes presentations from Dr Manash Chattopadhyay, the Trust's Learning Disability Medical Lead, families, carers, community and inpatient services.  There will also be information stands from other organisations who work alongside the Trust. The afternoon will focus on group workshops to help staff discuss best practice and develop their roles.

Dan Wilkins, Community Service Manager and conference organiser said "By holding the conference we will be able to identify how we can further develop the excellent services that we already have and learn more about how we can support people with learning disabilities."

The conference also gives an opportunity to share information, identify areas for improvement and collect different perspective from staff working across the Trust.
