Issues affecting us all

Tony250A Care Quality Commission (CQC) report published recently into the failings of one NHS Trust has been a stark reminder of the healthcare issues and challenges which affect us all.

The report reinforced the importance of protecting service users from harm whilst under our care and the need for a thorough and robust system for recording and investigating incidents as soon as they occur.

Tony Gallagher, Chairman of the Trust Board said, "The care and protection of our service users and staff is vitally important to us. I am confident that we have the necessary procedures in place to provide quality care and I welcome the forthcoming CQC inspection and the opportunity to further develop our services."

Newly appointed Chief Executive Hayley Richards confirmed recently that safety and quality are her two priorities.

All health and care services are inspected by the CQC, the independent regulator of health and social care in England. The CQC will be visiting AWP from the 16 May 2016, and following a two week inspection will publish their findings in a report on their website.
