Research on the radio

Research on the radioOne of our research studies for people with dementia has been discussed on the BBC Radio 4 programme 'All In The Mind'.

The study looked at the emotional impact of a diagnosis and how people with dementia process information about their diagnosis.

In 2015 AWP's Research and Development team collaborated with The University of the West of England on this study and it was recently discussed at the British Psychological Society Conference. The BBC Radio 4 programme All In The Mind reported the findings of the study.

Research and Development  Clinical Studies Officer, Abbie Jones who worked on this study said: "I was surprised and delighted to be listening to one of my favourite Radio 4 programmes and hearing about the study I had been working on!

"I enjoyed working with service users who have a dementia diagnosis and feel proud to hear the result being discussed publically."

The programme is available on BBC iPlayer and the study discussion is towards the end (19 minutes in).
