Proud of our award winning staff

LeadershipawardsWe are celebrating! Staff from our Trust beat off stiff competition across the region to win two categories at this year's NHS South West Leadership Recognition Awards.

The awards celebrate leaders at all levels and across all NHS professions, regardless of their position or level of qualifications. They recognise those who have improved people's health and the public's experience of health and social care.

Dr Mary Griggs Clinical Psychologist for the Specialised Deaf Service took home the Leadership for Service Improvement & Innovation Award as 'an exemplar in leading a service improvement or innovation, which has seen a positive, sustainable change and impact on the outcomes for staff, patients, service users, citizens, their families.'

Wendy Kelvin, Head of Learning and Development won the Leading & Developing People Award  which recognised 'those who lead and empower people to stretch themselves; shares their knowledge or opportunities for learning; helps to develop staff and someone who truly believes in the potential of everyone.'

AWP's Director of Strategy Rachel Clark said "We were delighted that Mary and Wendy's excellent leadership skills and achievements have been recognised.  They are committed to making a difference, go above and beyond what is expected and exemplify values-based leadership. They are great ambassadors for our organisation and we congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition."

The event was held at the Bristol Pavilion and hosted by Christina Quinn, Director NHS South West Leadership Academy and Ann James, Chair NHS South West Leadership Academy.
