STP summaries published

STPSummaries of both Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs) in which AWP is a partner have now been published.

Over the last few months organisations from the two local health and care communities in our area have come together to develop ideas around how we can create a sustainable future for the local NHS, set out in an STP for each of these two health and care communities. STPs are a new approach to planning health and care services across England over the next five years.

Our two local health and care communities are:

  • Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG)
  • Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW)

In BNSSG, AWP is one of 15 partner organisations working together to develop the STP.

In BSW we are one of 17 partner organisations working together to develop the STP.

We are advising both our STPs on mental health - a 'golden thread' running through the STPs - and working hard to ensure that mental health care is given parity with physical healthcare.

AWP is also leading the 'workforce' workstream across both STPs.

Both STPs have now published summary plans which set out the emerging thinking and priorities of the STPs.

These plans are in draft and will be improved through engagement with local groups, service users, carers, staff and local people. This is a real opportunity for all of us to influence the development of local mental and physical health and social care.

Our STP webpage explains more about STPs, links to the summaries and sets out how you can get involved.
