Sharing our knowledge

Sharing our knowledgeWe've been sharing our specialist knowledge of dementia with colleagues from a neighbouring Trust.

Staff from Belvedere Ward, a specialist dementia inpatient unit at Devon Partnership NHS Trust visited Liddington Ward our own specialist dementia ward in Swindon.

The aim of the day was to share examples of good practice and compare dementia related policy and procedures.  It also provided the opportunity to build links between the wards and the organisations.

Nurse Consultant in Dementia Care Chris Wall said, "Dementia is a global, national and local healthcare priority. Sharing experiences and knowledge with neighbouring organisations and teams is a key component in improving the care experience for those people living with dementia."

The day was a great successful day which Acting Matron Frances O'Hara Ball and Charge Nurse Karen Webb helped to facilitate. The Team on Liddington Ward hope to reciprocate and visit Devon in the near future.
