Headlight Mental Health Charity

Headlightlaunch_250AWP's Charitable Fund has a new name! Now called Headlight Mental Health Charity (or Headlight, for short) we are proud to share with you our exciting plans for growing our charity.

Our new name is short, memorable and was selected as the choice of service users, carers and staff. Now with our own identity we are ready to proactively raise money, and a more independent profile helps us attract funds from grant-makers, companies and the public.

We've got an exciting schedule of events planned to celebrate Headlight's birthday. Keep an eye out for our Fundraising Manager, Tia Shortall, who is taking the new charity on the road with a tour of AWP sites planned for launch week. The festivities get underway on Monday 3rd April when we'll be visiting Blackberry Hill and Whittucks Road.

We very much hope that you'll want to get involved and find out more about how you can make the most of charitable funds. Money is there to be spent for the benefit of AWP service users, and we've given a makeover to just about every aspect of our charitable fund to make it as easy as possible.

We've invested in tools to help us raise our profile (and fundraise) and we now have a suite of leaflets, posters, charity merchandise and more.

We're also delighted to announce our first major fundraising event, the Headlight Dragon Boat Race being held on 01 July at The Boathouse, Bath. Teams of between 11 and 17 will race in traditional Chinese Dragon Boats along the River Avon. Each team will have at least 3 timed races and the winners go head-to-head in a final race for the trophy. It's shaping up to be a fun and exciting day and we hope that we will see lots of AWP teams enter!
