Swindon CIT are award winning

Swindon CIT are award winningAWP's Complex Intervention and Treatment (CIT) team in Swindon has won the Social Work Placement of the Year Award 2017 from Oxford Brookes University.

Third year social work student, Bridget Mwanakhu nominated the team after spending her final year placement with them. Bridget described Swindon CIT as having exemplary practice, and said she will take what she has learned into the future wherever she goes.

CIT Team Manager, Sara Ross and Senior Practitioner, Michele Curr attended the awards ceremony held at Oxford Brookes University and were both shocked and delighted to have won such a difficult and competitive category.

Sara and Michele believe that having social work and nursing students within the team is rewarding and allows us to question our own practice. This award recognises their level of commitment to the development of future practitioners. Everyone in the team was thrilled to receive this positive award.

The annual Placement of the Year Awards celebrates excellence in student practice education given by health and social care service providers. The awards are voted for by students and they promote and reward excellent practice in placements and learning environments. Practice Placement Quality Lead at Health Education England, Professor Val Heath presented the awards.
