Why we are Listening into Action
AWP is a Listening into Action (LiA) trust. LiA
is an exciting initiative, designed to help NHS organisations
introduce new ways of working, with frontline staff leading on
changes they know will benefit service users and make our trust a
better place to work.
In a nutshell, LiA is about shaking things up and doing them
More than 80 NHS organisations have adopted LiA, leading to
thousands of improvements in care, such as reductions in waiting
AWP Chief Executive Dr Hayley Richards said: "We have
adopted Listening into Action as a way of making sure
that ideas and innovations from staff are heard and implemented. I
am confident that together, we can change the ways we work to the
lasting benefit of our patients and their families."
We already have 10 teams, each led by a frontline staff member,
implementing their own ideas to improve patient care.
We will also be holding sessions for all staff to come together
to share ideas about what changes they feel will make the biggest
difference. Also, every single member of staff has been given a
voice and asked to complete the LiA Pulse Check census about what
it's like to work for our Trust.
LiA has led to staff feeling significantly more valued, engaged,
proud and happy in their teams. LiA has also seen significant
shifts in Trust CQC ratings, with some Trusts coming out of
'special measures' and others now amongst the top performers in the
LiA is a fantastic opportunity to make big changes over the next
year and beyond. We'll keep you updated on our LiA journey!
