Service users and carers invited to reward staff for exceptional service and care

Mental health service users, their families and carers are being
invited to nominate staff and teams from Avon and Wiltshire Mental
Health Partnership (AWP) NHS Trust who have provided exceptional
care.
The annual AWP Staff Awards is now in its 8th year and celebrates
the vital role staff play in providing treatment and support to
those with mental health conditions.
There are 12 categories including Compassionate Care, Leading by
Example and Clinical Excellence.
For 2018 there is also a new award - the Service User and Carer
Choice award. This is exclusively for service users or carers to
nominate an individual or a team from AWP who has really made a
difference to them, going beyond what is required by their job and
truly seeing things from a service user's perspective. This award
will also be judged by service users and carers.
The Trust will also be presenting Long Service Awards to staff
who have given 30 years' service to the NHS.
AWP's Chief Executive, Dr Hayley Richards, said: "We recognise
that our staff play the most important role in supporting our
service users, their families and carers. They are dedicated,
compassionate and committed individuals who bring hope and make a
real difference, every day.
"We want to celebrate them and their work and show how much they
are valued. Please think about all the people you know who lead by
example, who demonstrate passion and excellence, innovation and
care, who go above and beyond whatever their role, and get
nominating!"
If you would like to nominate a member of staff or a team, you
can make your nomination by clicking here. Nominations close on
Friday 31 August.
Nominees who are shortlisted will be invited to an evening of
celebration on Friday 16 November.
Local companies are invited to support the event through
sponsorship. Sponsorship of the event is available in a number of
different packages tailored to suit individual needs and budgets.
