Fromeside is an inpatient 80 bed medium secure unit in Bristol.
It caters for both men and women suffering from mental illness who
also have a criminal history or have risks and behaviours that
would mean they are not able to be managed in mainstream adult
mental health services.
Fromeside has an ethos of recovery embedded at its heart and a
strong sense of service user and carer involvement. It has wards to
cater for individuals who are acutely unwell and other wards for
those nearer discharge.
It is able to offer both short term assessment and longer term
care pathways and has a varied team of professionals offering a
wide range of therapeutic activities and care, ranging from doctors
and nurses, through to psychology, social work, occupational
therapy, arts psychotherapies and adult education.
When service users are ready to move on to discharge in the
community there is a team of community forensic nurses able to work
alongside community teams to support this.
