Declaration of Compliance

Following the national audit of safeguarding (children) in the NHS in 2009, the Department of Health required all NHS Trusts to assure themselves of their basic safeguarding practice and make a declaration of their position by the 16th January 2010. AWP is pleased that it is able to make a declaration of compliance, in the format required by the Strategic Heath Authority (NHS South West), of its delivery against the required safeguarding practice standards.

The declaration, and the evidence and action plans that support it, have been scrutinised and agreed with AWP's lead commissioner (NHS South Gloucestershire), and have been submitted to NHS South West. AWP will continue to implement the action plans to further embed and develop effective safeguarding practice, when working with service users and families, in all its services.
