Kingfisher Highly Commended at South West Integrated Personalised Care awards
The Kingfisher team is celebrating after they were Highly Commended at the recent South West Integrated Personalised Care awards.
Six members of the Kingfisher team attended the awards, where they were shortlisted for the Working Together Differently award.
Emma Moody said: “We are all so proud of what we have achieved with The Kingfisher, working to deliver all of our changes in co-production with people with lived experience. Thank you to every one of you and to all your colleagues who have worked on this. We know this is just the beginning of many opportunities to celebrate the fantastic work at The Kingfisher.”
The awards took place at Wells Town Hall towards the end of November, and aim to recognise inspirational success stories. The principle of Personalised Care is about empowering people to lead the lives they wish to live, asking the person what matters to them and giving them choice and control in their health and care.
Ben Stunell, a lived experience representative who has been involved in the project since the outset, said: “I was so proud to hear that the Kingfisher team had been shortlisted for an award for all the co-production work that has been done throughout the design and development of the new service. It’s been brilliant to be a part of this alongside many other autistic adults in the Kingfisher autism feedback group. We were awarded ‘highly commended’, and I think it’s a great reflection of all the hard work that’s taken place over two years to ensure that lived experience remains at the heart of the service from the very beginning.”
