The new Kingfisher Outreach service launched
Alongside our regional partner, Devon Partnership Trust (DPT), AWP has now launched the new Kingfisher Outreach Team.
The Kingfisher is our new specialist facility for people with learning disabilities and autistic people, and this new team will work with patients who have been identified as being at high risk of admission across BSW and BNSSG.
To find out more about the service and how it will work, check out our outreach team video.
The service is part of a regional delivery model aligned with Devon and intended to create an end-to-end pathway for people with a learning disability and autistic people who are experiencing acute mental illness.
The team will work with individuals who require joint health and social care input through the Dynamic Support Registers or Local Area Emergency Protocol process. The multi-professional team can provide advice and guidance to the current professionals involved in the person's care and support as well as clinical assessment and intervention. They will work with an individual for up to six weeks.
The inpatient Kingfisher facility is still under construction, and is due to open next March. You can find out more about the new service here.
If you would like to discuss any potential referrals or queries about the service, please contact the outreach team on 0117 472 8050 or email awp
