Mental Health Trust invites local carers to a day of celebration and support

Local people caring for someone with a mental health condition are being invited to a support event run by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP). Hosted on Thursday 3 October, the event will support and recognise the vital role carers play in the lives of people with mental illness or learning disabilities.

Celebration of Good Work in the Safety Assessment Project Team

New National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines (NICE) were published in September 2022 around the prevention and management of suicide and self-harm. At the time of publication, many Mental Health Trust’s around the country were engaging in practices that were not in line with NICE guidelines around risk assessment i.e. using global risk stratification (rating risk as low/medium or high), including AWP.
