The Psychological Therapies service provides a range of specialist therapies in community and inpatient settings in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. In Bristol, this service is known as Complex Psychological Interventions, and in Bath and North East Somerset it is called BaNES Therapies Team.
Our teams deliver specialist evidence-based psychological therapies to help adults with a wide range of mental health difficulties. There are different types of therapy to suit different people depending on their circumstances and experiences.
If you, or the person you care for, are referred to the Psychological Therapies service, you will be given an assessment to help us decide whether the therapy is right for you and if so, which therapy would be best suited to your needs. Psychological therapy involves talking and listening, sometimes about changing the way you think and what you could do differently.
We work with adults from the age of 18 years and over with severe and complex mental health difficulties.
Adults are usually referred to the service through their care co-ordinator or key nurse. You can only be referred by one of the mental health service inpatient teams, community teams or recovery teams who can contact us using the details below based on where your GP is registered.
