The detoxification and stabilisation service provides inpatient care and treatment for adults aged 18 years and over who have difficulty controlling their drug or alcohol use in the community.

Our service supports individuals who use a variety of different substances and whose circumstances make it difficult to complete community-based treatment programmes.

We offer a therapeutic programme with group sessions that help adults discuss and develop skills to cope with dependency and avoid relapses. There are also individual sessions to maintain progress, develop plans to prevent a relapse, and focus on recovery.

If you, or a person you care for, are referred by a healthcare professional to our service, you will be treated in Acer Substance Misuse Recovery inpatient ward at Southmead Hospital.

If you are a professional caring for a patient who has difficulty controlling or eliminating their drug or alcohol use in the community, you can contact our team at Acer Substance Misuse Recovery for advice on making a referral.
