We're pleased to confirm that we've been reaccredited by the Carers Trust with two stars for its Triangle of Care Scheme.

The Triangle of Care is a framework developed by Carers Trust that emphasises the importance of collaboration between carers, service users, and health professionals. Its primary goal is to promote safety, recovery, and mental well-being by actively involving and supporting carers throughout the care process.

Earlier this year, we submitted our reaccreditation for two stars, and the report was well received by the Carers Trust. and we were recently informed that we have retained our two-star accreditation.

Jo Collins, Deputy Head of Patient and Carer Experience, said: "We were really pleased to be reacrredited by the Carers Trust. Working with Carers, families and loved ones effectively remains a key priority and we know we do not always get this right. The annual Triangle of Care audit process provides insight into where best we focus our efforts on improvement in the coming months. In 2025/26 we will refresh AWP’s Carer Charter and working in co-production we are designing a new carer awareness training package. We will also be focussing on Young Carers, and Young Adult Carers in 2025/26.

The Carers Trust feedback was positive and the recommendations given for further progression well received and will be discussed and implemented via the Carer Champion Network.

The Carers Trust said: "The depth and scale of this report is both ambitious and impressive. It has been a pleasure to read alongside all the supporting evidence. We welcome all the rich detail contained within, which demonstrates where you see the key areas of achievement and improvement have been since your previous annual report in 2024. You are clearly going from strength to strength and we appreciate all your hard work.

"This annual report provides evidence of the excellent progress being made against all six of the Triangle of Care Standards against a challenging context. Carers Trust can see that there has been an enormous effort made and that this report demonstrates a strong ethos of continual improvement and team effort. Congratulations to all concerned."
