Our charity's drive for funds to build a new outdoor space for mental health patients in Bristol has been given a boost, after two local companies chipped in with support.

Bristol based companies Pinnacle and Opus brought together 50 enthusiastic golfers for a day of fun and friendly competition at Knowle Golf Cub in Bristol.

The event was to raise money for Headlight, the charity of Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) which provides specialist mental health, learning disabilities and autism services across the south west.

The charity has launched a campaign to raise money for a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) at its Callington Road Hospital.

It was an un-fore-gettable day, raising just under £1500. The charity is on course to raise the funds needed for the MUGA which will provide a dedicated outdoor space to support mental health, physical wellbeing and connection for its patients during their stay in the hospital.

Jayne Williams from Headlight, said: "It was a great event and we would like to thank the staff at Pinnacle and Opus for their support.

"It is really important that stays in a mental health wards are recovery focussed and part of that is supporting people's physical as well as mental health. The MUGA will make a big difference and we are grateful for all the support we have received so far."

Jack Seymour Commercial Finance Director for Pinnacle said: "We were thrilled with the turnout and the generosity of our community. The funds raised will make a significant impact, and we are grateful to everyone who participated and contributed."
