The Fountain Way Mental Health Unit, run by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP), has been awarded a Five-star hygiene rating, following its latest inspection by the Foods Standards Agency.

The Unit, which was inspected on Tuesday September 5, is located in Salisbury and provides mental health inpatient care.

This is the third year that the Unit - located in Salisbury has received a Five-star rating for food hygiene.

Sarah Jones, Director of Nursing and Quality, said: “We’re really pleased that the Fountain Way Unit has again been recognised for the standard of hygiene it provides.

“How we care for our patients is really important to us, and we know that there are a number of elements which together contribute to a patients overall recovery. Alongside high quality care, having a clean and safe environment in which to recover is important for our patients and for their overall experience whilst they are in our care.”

During a hygiene rating inspection, the Food Standards Agency inspect organisations on how food is handled, stored and prepared, the cleanliness of facilities and how food safety is managed.

“The team at Fountain Way work incredibly hard to support our patients and this five star rating is a testament to them and I would like to thank them for all their hard work.”
