Families across South Gloucestershire who are supported by an NHS service can benefit from free soft play vouchers thanks to a local partnership.
The New Horizons Mother and Baby Centre, run by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, has been working closely with Circadian Trust who run and operate Active Lifestyle Centres across South Gloucestershire. The Circadian Trust has donated 200 softplay vouchers for local families who are under the support of the Mother and Baby Centre.
The vouchers can be used in any of the 5 Active Lifestyle Leisure Centres in South Gloucestershire – Bradley Stoke, Kingswood, Longwell Green, Thornbury, and Yate.
Based at Southmead Hospital, New Horizons provides treatments and interventions to meet the physical and mental health needs of mothers and their infants.
Jacob Kelly, Co-parents Group Facilitator at the New Horizons Mother and Baby Centre, said: “We are so thankful to Martyn Hinam, Jim Rollo and Circadian Trust for this fantastic donation. The softplay area is designed to develop motor skills such as hand-eye coordination which can improve focus and attention. There is also an opportunity to make new friends.”
Martyn Hinan, Centre Manager at Kingswood Active Lifestyle Centre, said: “It is an absolute pleasure to be able to support New Horizons Mother and Baby Centre. As a charitable Trust, our mission is all about encouraging people of all ages, from all backgrounds within our local communities to become active. Play is crucial for developing children’s physical, social, and emotional well-being, and we hope families from the Mother and Baby Centre enjoy their time spent in our Centres.”
If you have been under the care of the New Horizons Mother and Baby Centre then you are entitled to a voucher. Vouchers can be collected on the ward.
Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) is the lead provider of healthcare for people with serious mental illness, learning disabilities and autism across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and Wiltshire, and Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
