Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) NHS Trust have launched a new recruitment campaign in a bid to inspire more people to work within their local NHS mental health services.

AWP provides healthcare for people with serious mental illness, learning disabilities and autism in inpatient and community-based settings.  Providing services for a population of around 1.8 million across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and Wiltshire, and Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.

To kick off the campaign, the ‘We are AWP’ video features staff members carrying out their day-to-day roles, providing an insight into the breadth of opportunities available. Whether it’s working to support people with serious mental illness, eating disorders or helping new mothers with their mental health, the video illustrates the impact our staff have on the lives of our patients and their families.

Julian Feasby, Director for People for Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) NHS Trust, said “When planning the video we felt that it was important that our staff take the starring role, demonstrating the rewarding opportunities that make AWP a great place to work. It’s not often that we gain a glimpse of what working in mental health looks like, this campaign has provided us the chance to highlight just that”.

Dominic Hardisty, Chief Executive for Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) NHS Trust, said: “We are a diverse organisation with over 5,000 dedicated staff providing inpatient and community-based mental health care. We support staff to thrive within their roles, and encourage staff to feel proud of the impact they make. If you want to make a difference to the lives of those with mental illness, then please join us.”
