Nurses who want to return to the profession can offer so much to service users, employers and their local community.

If you are looking to return to nursing, AWP offers an employer-led programme in partnership with Bournemouth University and the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE), helping you access courses and training to build your skills and ease your transition.

You will receive academic support with taught sessions at university. In addition, you will be provided with a mental health or learning disability placement with a named Practice Assessor to assist with your practical experience, knowledge and skills.

AWP Return to Practice is available to registered mental health or learning disability nurses whose registration has lapsed.

You can receive funding from NHS Health Education England to cover the cost of your Return to Practice course. Once you have started on placement with AWP, a one-off payment will be provided to support your learning.

If you would like to return to nursing and work with AWP, we would love to hear from you via email below. We can arrange to talk through your experience and what to expect, discuss how to complete an application, and explain the interview process with AWP and our partnership universities.
