Bristol Autism Spectrum Service (BASS) provides support to adults with suspected or diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.   

If you, or someone you care for, are referred to our services, we can offer:  

  • assessment and diagnosis if you are referred to us by your GP.   

  • support to mental health professionals working with you.  

  • an advice service with groups on mindfulness, stress management, social cognition and interaction. There is also an opportunity to book one-to-one sessions with our staff.   

  • social prescribing to help you link with the community and access social opportunities.   

  • social support assessments for you if you are accessing our post-diagnostic services.   

  • post-diagnostic support, including psychoeducation, employment and benefits support, problem-solving and signposting.   

  • training in Asperger syndrome and ASD, ranging from one-hour awareness sessions to a full day’s training.   

Referrals can be made by GPs and other mental health professionals, using this form. You can also refer yourself if you are looking for support. Proof of diagnosis is required to access support, for example a diagnostic report.  You can read more about how we use and protect your information here
